Church History

Brockton Church of God was founded in 1986 by Bishop Dr. Othon O. Noel. Prior to Bishop Marc P. Simon’s installment as Senior Pastor in November 1999, several other pastors pioneered before him. At the early stages of Bishop Simon’s leadership, the church was about fifteen members strong, with Deaconess Alice Marceline being one of the original members.

The church was first located at 85 Pleasant St, in Brockton, MA, a small storefront in which we outgrew as membership increased. God was doing mighty works and the church was growing in quality as well as in quantity. With about 90 members and growing at a rapid rate, we saw it fitting to relocate.

In July 2007, we moved to 371 Main St. We loved this building, but once again, we were quickly outgrowing it. After several renovations in an attempt to enlarge the sanctuary, we realized it was time to move again. This time, God was taking us back to Pleasant St, right across from where we originally started.

On July 2012, we went back to our location at Pleasant St where the Brockton Church of God congregation gathers to worship our Lord. Now at 300 strong members, we have been continuously growing in spiritual maturity as well as in number, all because of the power of Christ that is at work within us.

Our church currently has several different ministries, many collaborating ministers, and a lot of services and outreach activities. We praise our God for making all these things possible, and we believe that greater things are yet to come.
